Tone & breath
Develop a centered, resonant sound with efficient breathing and a relaxed physical approach.
Private trumpet study with Peter Bonos, built around strong fundamentals, musical curiosity and the sound you want to make.
I offer private trumpet lessons for students of all ages and experience levels, from complete beginners to experienced players looking to expand their musical skills. My approach is supportive, practical, and tailored to each student’s interests, with a focus on developing good tone, technique, musicality, and confidence. Drawing on my experience performing and teaching a wide range of musical traditions, I can also help students explore improvisation, ear training, ensemble playing, and styles beyond the standard classical repertoire, including jazz, Balkan, Turkish, and other folk traditions. Whether you’re picking up the trumpet for the first time, returning after years away, or looking to take your playing in a new direction, lessons are shaped around your individual goals.
Peter brings experience as a performer, bandleader, ensemble musician and educator across klezmer, Balkan, Eastern European and related traditions. Lessons connect technique to real music rather than treating exercises as an end in themselves.
